I got this for my S7 FE because i lost the one that came with it. This pen is HUGE. It doesn’t fit into the slot for the pen nor does it stick to the magnetic spit very well. Might be fine for other models, but I wouldn’t buy it again for mine. Haven’t really used it much yet, but don’t really expect it to have issues with function. Just not practical as it won’t store nicely with in my tablet case.

The S Pen over all is very comfortable and I love the size. It is comfortable to use all day and has the feel of a regular pen, It is smooth and responsive for the most part. It works excellent on my Samsung S7 Tablet, better than other pens. The S Pen Pro and the S7 Tablet just seem to be made for one another. But I originally bought it for my Z Fold and it was just a bonus that it would work on other Samsung products. On the right side of the phone it doesn’t want to write and I have to hold the pen a certain way that is not comfortable for me. I have to have it straight up and down, not at a normal angle. The tip is not accurate when selecting items or when having to check boxes. It;s sluggish on air commands and has a bit of a lag when writing. The tip has scratched the screen protector on both my tablet and phone, which makes me concerned for what it will do on the screen with out protection over time. I think there should be a better tip selection like Microsoft has on their pens. I ended up buying the pen made for the Z Fold 3 and it works a lot better, although I like the bigger size of the S Pen Pro. For the price, I think it is way over priced. Samsung should have stayed with the S Pens of the past as they worked great and were budget friendly. For the price we have to pay for the phones, I think the pens should be included and stop trying to compete with other companies in the pen department. Don’t try to fix what isn’t broken. Some of us are barely able to afford the quality of the phones.

I’m not all that into gadgets, and the instructions are really bad. I guess if you know how to use it, instructions are good. But they don’t help us who don’t know

I decided to go with the “pro” due to the fact that a few phones back I had one of the “Note” phones (I.E. 9 or 10) and the pens were similar in fuction. Of course the size of the pens were different, but the functions, such as the air menu along with all of the other abilities were the same. I’m not sure why Samsung has to make this “PRO” so Long, but hey, I guess that’s why I’m not an engineer.
I’ve had “issues” from day one with this pen. I couldn’t pair it in the normal way that all of the literature states it should be and to this point, three weeks in, I still am having to pair it using my “work-a-round’ , if you will.
The procedure is to push the “pairing” button for three seconds getting the light to blink alternately between red, green, & blue. Then your phone should pick this signal up and you will see a pop-up appear stating “S-pen pro” and it will auto pair from that point. Unforftunately, this is in no way shape or form how I am able to pair my phone. When I press my “pairing button” getting the alternately blinking light…well this has no effect, as in I get no pop-up, no way to pair my phone/pen. The procedure I have to do is: Open up the phone to access my inner screen. Then I turn on my “pairing” button and I still get the alternately blinking light. I also get the floating pen icon. So I click on the floating pen circle Which opens up all things S-pen. It shows that my pen is “not connected”. Then in the upper right corner of the screen there is the “hamburger dots” and click on that. It shows two options with the second one being “learn how”. What this is referring to is the tutorial on how to use the air actions within each app. But once I click on that, this is the area in which I’m allowed to pair my pen. I get the pop up which allows me to pick the S-Pen Pro and subsequently pair it with my phone.
This is the ONLY way that I’m “allowed” to pair my pen. Not sure why, but it gets a little old having to do this any time I want to connect my pen to the phone.
The reason I’m telling this to you is so that if you run into this issue you’ll know how to maybe deal with it better than if you never have heard this issue before.
Another reason is because I believe that you should go for the Z-fold pen and not the Pro!!
Once I get past the pairing issue the pen works great as far as all the features are concerned. The physical part of the pen is a little “weird”. The pairing & connection buttons are together and the position they are placed on the phone is a little “high up” for me. I don’t hold my pens/pencils that far up. So the way in which you have to hold this pen in order to properly utilize the connection button (which you have to push in order to use any of the features) is just not “natural” to me. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but it’s been a bit hard to get used too. Alos, I’ve noted that when drawing the angle needed in order to get any lines drawn properly, is a bit off. Once again, the angle is “weird”. It’s just so uncomfortable to use in order to properly utilize it’s features.
