Caveman –
Great quality you come to expect from Apple. Turned a simple iPad into a device that can do much of what a laptop will do. Easier to type text on keyboard than to “finger type”.

Love it. The keyboard is small but easy to use. It is easy to attach to iPad magnetically and stays attached. The connection is good. It closes over the screen and serves a very good protector, stays closed. It is designed to form a triangle that creates a stand. It is sturdy and well-made.

good price, good laptop replacement. I bought this iPad and keyboard to take the place of my old Mac laptop which is so old it is unable to update or allow access to certain websites. For my uses, the iPad does everything I need and I love the touch screen. The keyboard is almost too small for comfort, but it’s nice when typing a letter or such. The iPad found my wireless Brother laser printer the first time I hit the print button. I didn’t have to install, pair it or anything. I actually was surprised at the price offered on Amazon. Less than Apple’s price due to Apple’s agreement and spreading the use of their products. My young grandkids have these iPads and love them, too.

Nice. A nice keyboard–love the action of the keys. The stand is sturdy & serves okay as a screen cover. I suspect it will not wear well at the joints–we’ll see how long they last.

Great keyboard for older iPads. I have a 2017 iPad Pro 10.5” and this is the perfect keyboard for it. It’s not backlit, but I’m a touch typist, so that’s not a big deal for me. The keyboard has to be one of the lightest that was made, and I love the fact that it gets its power from the iPad – there’s no charging required ever! The keyboard is amazingly comfortable to use, despite it being so thin. It’s got a type of waterproof fabric covering it that feels good on the fingers. It’s a very responsive keyboard and I can type blazingly fast on it – as fast as any full-size keyboard. If you have an older iPad, you have to consider this gem of a keyboard!

Nearly Perfect Typing Companion/laptop replacement. I recently got the Apple Smart Keyboard for my iPad, and I have to say, it’s been a game-changer for me. As someone who writes a lot, I was looking for something that could potentially replace my laptop. And guess what? This keyboard has done just that.First off, the feel of this keyboard is fantastic. The keys have just the right amount of responsiveness. Every tap is like the keyboard is reading my mind, making typing feel effortless and smooth. It’s a real joy to use, especially for long writing sessions. But here’s the catch – it’s not backlit. I often find myself working late into the night, and not having that backlight is a bit of a letdown. It’s like having a sports car without headlights – it’s great, but you can’t fully enjoy it when it gets dark.Despite that, I’m still really pleased with this keyboard. It’s slim, it’s sleek, and it attaches to the iPad like they’re two peas in a pod. Since I’ve started using it, my laptop has been collecting dust. The convenience of just popping my iPad into this keyboard and getting down to business is unbeatable. So, if you’re considering the Apple Smart Keyboard for your iPad and you’re a daytime writer or you’ve got a good lamp, I’d say go for it. It’s a solid, well-performing keyboard that might just make you forget about your laptop. Just keep in mind the lack of backlighting if you’re a night owl like me.

Apple never gives you the wrong expectations. Very slim and easy/ comfortable to type. I bought it for my iPad (9th Gen ) so it could be easier to bring it to class. I love it! I do recommend buying another case to protect the back side of your iPad though

Love how painfully easy this is to “install” and how well it works. I hate how expensive it is, but it definitely is easy and does its job. The magnet stays in place well even when I move the iPad around. Would recommend.

I ordered Apple Smart Keyboard and received it next day with Amazon Prime Free Delivery. It works great on my Apple iPad Air (3rd Generation). Keyboard is truly smart it start working soon as you attach to iPad. On a productivity note, you’ll be ready to work immediately. Like Steve Jobs said, “It Just works” and one more thing… I’m using this Smart Keyboard to submit this review.

Just received the keyboard – delivered early in fact. Opened the box, attached to my Ipad and BOOM! I just start typing on it. No need to pair, no need to charge – charges when you charge your Ipad. Keyboard has a super nice feel to it. Unlike the cheap keyboards I kept buying that broke within a year or less. Yes, this Apple keyboard is a bit pricey BUT add up all the junk I purchased in the past and I could have bought this right off the bat. Cheap me! I am no rocket scientist when it comes to computers and tech and all I can say is NOTHING could have been easier. I can’t comment on its durability as I literally just took it out of the box BUT I can say, they typing is much more comfortable than any other keyboard I have had. Impressed!!!!

I like that it easily snaps to the iPad. The magnetic connection is strong. The back can be bent to hold your screen at the right angle for typing. The keyboard is like the larger keyboards used for a pc. Same keys in same places. Very nice.

Luis Fajardo –
Connects easily to IPAD (9th gen). No extra charging for the keyboard. The only disadvantage is that there is no protection for the back of the IPAD.

Très utile et facile à utiliser

Pretty good design. I have tried and reviewed two keyboards recently for the 7th Gen iPad. One I did not like at all, and then there’s this one. This design is clearly well thought out. I was disappointed because I misread that this one was backlit. It isn’t. I am also a little disappointed that the back of the iPad isn’t protected at all by this case — it isn’t a folio. However, it ends up having a slight advantage by not being a folio — the cover is removable easily and quickly when you don’t need it, and there is as little bulk as possible. This is hardly bigger/heavier than a simple front cover with no keyboard. Those of you who have had iPads for years will remember the first “covers” that ever came out were pretty much just like this — a magnetic flap that covers only the screen portion of the iPad. I assume those still exist. I’ve only used the folio version the past 7+ years, myself. I hate the idea of the back getting damaged from regular use or dropping. That said, I don’t think you could design a keyboard cover any better than this one. It folds two ways, one with the keyboard in front of the screen and one way with the keyboard behind. When the cover is folded over either way, the hard plastic of the keys does NOT touch either the front or the back of the iPad. That’s good design! The other, much cheaper, folio I bought and reviewed scratched my screen when it was closed. Yuck. One thing I really appreciate about this keyboard is that it does not need charging or a Bluetooth connection. That is one less cable to worry about and the keyboard will never run out of power while you’re using it. The way the cover connects is securely via the magnets on the side of the iPad. I suppose were it backlit, it would draw more power from the iPad. As it is, this keyboard is impossible to use in dark rooms if you don’t touch-type, but fine in average-lit rooms or daylight. Honestly, I don’t do that much writing on the iPad, but when I do, this works much better than the onscreen keyboard. The keyboard is touted to be “full sized” but it falls a bit short of the width and height of full-sized Air keyboard. The action is pretty stiff, but the layout is such that you’re not randomly hitting extra keys or functions. The delete and shift keys are where your hands expect them to be. I’ve owned some other third-party iPad keyboards that stuffed in random function keys or made the right shift key too small, so I always had to look at my hands rather than touch-type.I do not think I would have paid full price for this keyboard, especially since it isn’t backlit. The Amazon price is decent, especially if you want to have a very slim, very convenient keyboard that you never have to charge right at your fingertips. It definitely makes the iPad even more portable and functional. Whether you want to use the iPad to view videos at almost 90 degrees, to write with the keyboard at around 50 degrees, or take the cover completely off and hold just the pad in your hands, you can do all of that very quickly and easily. That, I think, are the smarts in this design.I’ll be looking for some sort of back cover or film, though, that fits with this cover. That way, the metal will be protected even when the front cover is off.
