    1) Outer package was intact, but inside the Multiple Pins were damaged2) It appears to be used product, as on the IC it was not clean3) Under the IC no sponge or buffer is place in the package I received, which indicates that the product is not new.I have requested for the investigation with Amazon.

Beast of a CPU, sayonara Intel. Bought this for gaming and multitasking after being thoroughly let down by recent Intel CPU offerings. Got sick of issues with e-cores being total garbage that killed my fps, and turning off most of the cores on my cpu didn’t seem like a good solution so I went back to AMD after 12 years of Intel chips.Installation was a breeze, was able to get Expo to work on DDR5 6000MT ram that was on my motherboard QVL no problem. 16 cores is nuts. Mine is stable at 5.4 GHz on a full custom water loop, temps are never higher than 55C. Uses less power than my old i5-13600k and temps are better, too!It is so weird playing a cpu heavy game and seeing 10% cpu usage. Installed with a thermalright AM5 socket mount on a MSI X670E Tomahawk mono. The socket mount is great, it makes it impossible to get thermal paste all over the caps on the cpu and keeps it on the cpu heat-spreader.Extremely happy with the performance, this cpu is a monster. Intel’s design ideas of strapping on 10 year old garbage atom cores to their new high performance cores is a really annoying decision because if you are like me still on windows 10, any core can get assigned any task. Had a game get assigned e-cores to render threads and the fps was bouncing between 60 and 7, it was a nightmare. After installing AMD chipset drivers and switching power plan back to balanced, I haven’t had any issues at all with this chip. Was even able to use the same windows install I used for my Intel setup without issues.

Amazing CPU. Bought this to run servers and it does great. Short of stepping up to a server CPU it was the next best thing.

Perfect. The new AMD chip are easier to and install and harder to break which was a big plus for someone like me building there first PC. This thing is a power house and runs great! Definitely worth the money.

Yes. I got a good one I guess. Runs pretty darn good. Haven’t noticed any negative effects similar to what people have been talking about. I paired it with an asus ryujin II 360 and this thing actually runs decently cool. Have yet to break into the low 70s while gaming. That might change if I play something more CPU dependant though I have yet to experience such.

At first I was skeptical on the performance of the 7950x3d from what I’ve elsewhere in games, but paired with process lasso I have yet to see any issues. Boot times are said to be 5~10 minutes long, not once have I ran into that. Boots in less than a minute. Perfect cpu for both gaming and work.

Fastest gaming CPU on the planet. fastest gaming CPU – that is Tom’s Hardware’s opinion: and so far it has lived up to that for me. I got this on sale for only $10 more than the 7900 and it was very much worth it! AMD has managed to make this thing deliver at a remarkably low 95W TDP as well – quite remarkable. Happily your socket AM4 cooler with fit on your new motherboard, although in my case it required a trip to the hardware store to buy 4 metric bolts (the backplate is now integral, and for some coolers, like my TT waterblock, you have to screw into the backplate directly).Did you pick up on the “new motherboard” comment? You’re going to need one – AMD has moved to LGA rather than PGA for their new chips and socket AM5, and they only support DDR5 as well, so you’re going to need some new RAM – BUT if you don’t cheap out, buy a high-end board and EXPO certified RAM and get ready to launch moon rockets, or anything else your heart desires, with a very very fast system.

Beastly. This thing is a powerhouse of a processor. Paired it with a PowerColor RX 7900xtx and well, they’re absolutely made for each other. No compatibility issues, and it just flows so well and surprisingly doesn’t run that hot without liquid cooling.

Paired strix x670 e-e, 7950x3d, G.Skill Neo, h150i with strix 4070 oc… Graphics to the max on most games 95-125 fps. Able to install with ease! Load temps with corsair h150i elite say between 38-40c. These 16 cores can load up multiple +8 accounts of Eve online in under 2 mins! Top notch cpu! Previous cpu fx 9590 black edition. That was a fantastic processor.

So, first off, I paid $690 for this CPU, replacing an older one so I could play Starfield and upgrade to Windows 11. It claimed to run overclocked at 5.7 ghz. I wanted the fastest best chip. All other CPUs I ever bought from AMD had the overclocking unlocked. This one was not and the software from AMD said it could NOT be unlocked due to the 3D feature. So, it’s sold as running at 5.7 ghz, but the software they released says it can’t, I couldn’t get it to, and my computer shop wasn’t able to. I put all that in just for anyone that will say I simply don’t know what I’m doing. I called AMD. I wrote them. I read their website and articles. It runs at 4.2, which is barely a little faster than my previous AMD cpu from 2012. 4.2 is much slower than 5.7. They also promised a free Star Wars game with it, but AMD didn’t honor the promotion. Within a couple of weeks of selling it to me at the insanely high price, they were discounting it as much as $130. So, I felt stupid for trusting them. I will say, it does run fine. I was able to upgrade to Windows 11 and I do run Starfield with it. Ironically, the only software I had any trouble running came from AMD itself. I’m using it fine with an expensive motherboard, 64GB RAM and an AMD 12GB graphics card. Other than overclocking or getting it to run any faster than 4.2 ghz, I have had no problems with this processor. But since 4.0 processors have been out well over a decade, this is way too much to pay for a 4.2 one. If anyone at AMD or anywhere else actually gets this processor running at 5.7 ghz, I still overpaid, but I’d at least be happier with the purchase. I’ve got lots of computers and you’d think they’d want happy customers. I’ve always chosen AMD because of their price, warranty and customer service, but this time it’s not broken, so it’s not a warranty replacement issue. According to their own software, it can’t be unlocked which means it’s not designed to EVER really run at 5.7. Too bad nearly every place that sells it still claims that it does, including AMD’s website. Like I said, even my overpaid computer techs could not get it to run anywhere near the OC speed. On the other hand that meant it has never overheated, but this could also be because I overpaid for the best water cooling system. There’s no game or app my previous cpu liked that isn’t better on this one. I hope AMD reads this, gives me the free game, and makes their software and processor work as their website claims. If they do those things, well, it’s still too expensive to get all the stars. I was too generous with my money as well as with the stars in this review. But it does run my computer and it does that well. It just doesn’t run nearly as fast, isn’t running the Star Wars game because they didn’t keep their promise and cost way too much. Oh, I also thought the customer service person was rude at AMD, unlike Amazon who are usually super nice. I could give you all the technical details, but others have done that. I told you what matters to me, a nearly lifelong AMD fanboy.

Early on, people were having issues with this chip. Mostly through the motherboard and software since it is new tech. Since then, it has become stable enough. There seems to be a variance with the overclock or undervolt capability from chip to chip. I don’t see a real advantage to this chip vs the next highest rated chip. You really just want it because its the newest.

there is slighlty better multicore performance, but you really have to need it.

The other nice thing about this chip is less power usage and lower max temps. It also has some room for undervolting on the power curve and still getting max speed out of it.

I suggest you get a really good aftermarket cooler (AIO) to get the most out of this chip.

Running this chip with a DeepCool LT720 360mm rad with an ElecGear Carbon fiber contact frame with kingpin KPX thermal compound. In a lighter gaming workload, I didn’t see temps get above 55C on the hottest sensor from hwinfo in the recommended config from AMD. I don’t think high temperatures will be a problem for this particular chip, at least not outside what the rest of the 7000 series family can hit.

I personally haven’t had any stability concerns with this processor in the 3 weeks that I have ran it in place of my 7700x, even with EXPO enabled. In terms of average framerate, this chip feels like a 7700x subjectively, as I have no issues getting frames to a 4090 that I can tell. The 3d cache helps with 1%/.1% lows, to the point that the majority of the micro stutters I had gotten from my 7700x are largely gone in gameplay. There may be a small stutter when swapping from a game to a non game on another screen if using AMD’s recommended config, but not enough to be a bother.

Overall, if you want to mess around with extra cores later on (streaming, encode, etc.) but want the 3dcache for games now AND your budget allows for it, the 7950X3D is a pretty solid pick in my book for the enthusiast who wants the best without heading into server CPU territory.
