Apple Mac mini (M2): A Powerhouse in a Tiny Package. I was a 2017 MacBook Pro user looking to step into the world of desktop computing and the Apple Mac mini with the M2 chip is a phenomenal choice. Here’s why:Unbelievable Speed and PerformanceThe Apple M2 chip is the heart and soul of this Mac mini, and it absolutely sings. Compared to your 2017 MacBook Pro, expect jaw-dropping speed improvements across the board. Everyday tasks like opening apps, browsing the web, and editing photos fly by with effortless fluidity. Intensive tasks like video editing or music production will see even more dramatic gains. The responsiveness of the Mac mini makes it an absolute joy to work with.Compact PowerThe Mac mini continues the tradition of being the smallest desktop computer in Apple’s lineup. Don’t underestimate its size – this little machine packs a punch! It seamlessly integrates into any desk setup, saving precious space.ConnectivityThe Mac mini doesn’t skimp on ports. You’ll find Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, USB-A, and an Ethernet port, ready to connect your favorite monitors, external drives, and other peripherals. This eliminates the need for pesky dongles you might have relied on with your MacBook Pro. The setup with one HDMI and a USB C to hdmi was flawless and worked the first time.A Value PropositionNot only do you get a serious performance upgrade, but the Mac mini’s attractive price point makes this upgrade even sweeter. It offers tremendous value compared to other options in Apple’s desktop lineup. Is it the Right Upgrade for You?If any of these points resonate, the Mac mini (M2) is worth serious consideration:You crave desktop power: Want a dedicated workspace without the bulk of a larger desktop? The Mac mini excels. You prioritize speed: The M2 chip will dramatically improve your computing experience, handling heavy workloads with ease.Space is limited: The Mac mini’s compact form factor is ideal for desks of all sizes.Ultimately, the Apple Mac mini with the M2 chip is a small but mighty machine, representing a fantastic upgrade path for 2017 MacBook Pro users. If you’re ready for desktop-class performance in an incredibly compact package, this could be your perfect computer.

OMG! Apple did it again. I recently upgraded to the Mac mini, and I’m absolutely blown away by its performance and functionality. As an avid Apple user, I had high expectations, and this compact powerhouse exceeded them in every aspect. Let me share with you why it deserves all the praise it’s been receiving.First off, let’s talk about performance. The integration of Apple’s M2 chip has taken the Mac mini to a whole new level. It’s lightning-fast, handling even the most demanding tasks with ease. Whether I’m tackling intensive creative projects or juggling multiple applications simultaneously, the Mac mini delivers seamless performance without breaking a sweat.Beyond its impressive performance, the design of the Mac mini is sleek and elegant. It fits seamlessly into any workspace, occupying minimal space while still exuding sophistication. The attention to detail in its craftsmanship is evident, making it a pleasure to have on my desk.Connectivity options are another highlight of the Mac mini. With Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 ports, I have lightning-fast data transfer speeds and a wide range of peripheral connections at my disposal. Whether I need to hook up multiple displays, external storage devices, or other accessories, the Mac mini offers unparalleled versatility. Finally, I appreciate Apple’s dedication to sustainability with the eco-conscious design of the Mac mini. It’s made with recyclable materials and energy-efficient components, reducing its environmental footprint. As someone who values sustainability, this aligns perfectly with my values. In terms of recommendations, I recommend an Apple keyboard (unless you have another high-class product) with this computer. It helps a lot for a good quality of typing. Also, beware that if you want to use it for programs requiring more graphic card power (such as data mining), M2 may not give you what you are looking for, or at least, you may need some upgrades to get the best out of it.In conclusion, the Mac mini is a true game-changer in the world of computing. Its exceptional performance, sleek design, extensive connectivity options, user-friendly interface, and commitment to sustainability make it a standout choice for professionals and tech enthusiasts alike. I wholeheartedly give it a solid five stars and highly recommend it to anyone in search of a remarkable computing experience.

I iike the minis. This will be my 3rd one. I’m getting 8 years, or so, from each one. As chip performance increases, the older models just won’t keep up online.
This new one has Apple’s new M2 chip with an 8 core cpu and 10 core gpu and 8 gigs of ram. I’d like more ram, but for the price (Under $600!) I won’t complain.
It hasn’t arrived yet. Two more days to wait. I’m confident that it will be a great replacement for my current 8 year old model which has a failing hard drive.
Satisfied User –
8GB, 500GB SSD. So far it works good. Fast. I edit with FCP mostly. No problems so far. I miss the pulsing light while in sleep mode thing from my older Mac Mini. Not a big deal, though.

Can’t find anything I dislike about this powerful mac mini m2. I’ve seen people wanting more ports but there are always dongles. The M2 chip is zippy fast and the 512 gigs of memory on this one is way more than I will use since I am an every day average user. It does lack a card reader but that’s not a minus for me but has every kind that I use and actually more. I’m replacing a late 2015 iMac with it but you do need a keyboard and a mouse, a monitor and speakers and if you need one, a mic/camera. I bought an LG monitor, Amazon speakers and a Logitech bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo and maybe will get the camera at a later date. To buy an iMac M1 with the 512 memory I would have to have spent circa $500 or more and wouldn’t have gotten all the ports. If you want a great dongle for the mini to add card reader and backup SSI you can add a great one for about 100 bucks. Really like this set up.

I’m sure it’s a function of the age of my old iMac, but this is so much faster and starts up in no time.
Pro tip: compare your new computer with a 10 year old version and you’ll not be disappointed

After upgrade from old Intel i5 mini, 80% of non-apple migrated software would no longer work with “Apple Silicon”. Otherwise smooth transfer, seemingly better WiFi connection (newer antenna?) and seamless iphone integration. Same form factor allows easy unobtrusive stacking of the old i5 for using old intel-apple software.
